Genre: First-Person
Shooter
The sequel to 2K Games' popular
first-person action-adventure. Set during the fall of
Rapture, players assume the role of a Plasmid test
subject for Sinclair Solutions and must use all the tools
at their disposal to survive the horrors of the
city

The Big Daddy will assume the part of the first Big
Daddy of all time made in Rapture, who has excellent velocity
and smarts. He has apparently come through the effects of the
first game. Because the role player will be able to apply the
Big Daddy's drill and rivet gun as artilleries, although the
drill will overheat if used endlessly. The Rivet gun will
consume numerous types of ammo, much the same as the first
bioshock game. As an alternative, in direct contrast to
other Big Daddys, the big daddy may also use
plasmids, while upgrade trees will provide unique ways to
upgrade them. A new feature added is the power to dual-wield
plasmids and arms at the same time. Further Big Daddy abilities
found in the first bioshock game, such as performing a
shoulder charge, will also be an option. The big Daddy will
also be able to stride outside Rapture into the sea due to the
diving gear they wear. Here the Big Daddy can explore the ocean
floor, recover from fights, wonder at the city from the outside
and even pick up the special sea slugs at the sea floor to gain
more ADAM. These sea slugs are gene-modified so they create
ADAM. The slugs were the original idea instead of Little
Sisters in the first BioShock. The Big Sister also appears to
be a very serious threat to the player. When a particular
number of Big Daddy’s are defeated she will attack. Unlike from
the Big Daddy’s, she is very quick and arguably more strong,
able to pull ADAM from her enemies through a harvesting needle,
straight into her bloodstream, which fires "telekinetic
abilities beyond anything previously thought feasible.
As a Big Daddy, Big Daddy’s will seek to
capture the Little Sisters from other Big Daddy’s who roam
Rapture. Once caught, the player will once more have the option
of choosing the destiny of the Little Sisters. Harvesting
remains a theory in order to gain more ADAM, but instead of
rescuing the Little Sister, Big Daddy’s will instead be granted
to adopt them. With this option, Little Sisters will ride
around with the player's Big Daddy, and will look for ADAM to
harvest from corpses; in a manner similar to the proving area
of the first bioshock, the role player will then need to ensure
that splicers will not harm the Little Sister as the harvesting
process takes place. The Splicers will not only damage the
Little Sister, but will also delay the process of collecting
the ADAM. Rescuing, while not initially an option for the
player, will become available at some point in the game.
Additionally the Little Sisters will also warn the Big Daddy
when the Big Sister is nearing. When the Big Sister is
approaching, there will be a countdown which gives the player
an opportunity to set traps, purchase items at a vending
machine or place proximity mines.
Other features from the original Bioshock game
include the ability for the Big Daddy to regenerate through the
use of Vita-Chambers, and audio journals. In addition to the
single-player story, multiplayer will be a feature in BioShock
2,but this will not take the shape of co-operative game
play.
It has also been confirmed from the latest gameplay
trailer that Gene Banks will return and that previous areas of
Rapture still exist, such as the Kashmir Restaurant where the
player started out the first bioshock game, complete with the
iconic statue of Atlas.
